An Oyo High Court sitting in Awe has adjourned the trial of 12 suspects accused of murdering Jeffrey Akro, an undergraduate of Ajayi Crowther University, to Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge brought against them.
Justice Ladiran Akintola, presiding over the case, further scheduled additional hearings for December 2025, indicating the complex nature of the proceedings.
Speaking to the press, Chief Victor Ewrhujakpor, representing the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) on a fiat, stated that the defendants’ pleas were taken, but their bail application could not proceed as planned. He expressed readiness to continue representing the state alongside two other counsels.
