The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has praised the Kwara State Government for its swift action in addressing the assault of a female Corps member by a teacher, Hajia Fatimoh Nike Hamzat, at Government Day Junior Secondary School, Kulende, Ilorin.

NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, lauded the investigative panel’s objectivity and adherence to Public Service Rules in recommending sanctions against the teacher.

Brigadier General Ahmed emphasized the importance of valuing and protecting Corps members, who are contributing to national unity and development. He reiterated that maltreatment of Corps members will not be tolerated and urged them to uphold their Oath of Allegiance while serving as ambassadors of the Scheme.

The incident occurred when the teacher reportedly verbally and physically assaulted the Corps member for failing to greet her properly.
