The Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH) has announced its intention to conduct a mass burial of unclaimed corpses currently overstretching its mortuary capacity.

A staff member revealed that many individuals have abandoned their deceased relatives after making initial deposits, leaving the mortuary overwhelmed.

Confirming the situation, Head of Corporate Affairs, Yakub Kamaldeen Aliagan, stated that the mortuary is “filled beyond capacity,” and management has issued a two-week notice for families to claim their relatives’ bodies.

Failure to retrieve the bodies within the specified timeline will result in decongestion through mass burial. The public is urged to respond promptly to avoid this action.
