The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has announced the shortlist of 1,811 applicants for teaching and non-teaching positions following a rigorous interview process that saw over 55,713 applicants vying for the roles. The selected candidates include 1,500 teachers, primarily in STEM subjects, and 311 non-teaching staff, such as drivers, security guards, and office assistants, who will serve schools across the state’s 16 local government areas.

According to KWSUBEB Chairman, Prof. Sheu Raheem Adaramaja, successful candidates with valid phone numbers have been contacted to collect their letters of appointment. The documentation process commenced on Monday, starting with successful applicants from Kwara North. Kwara South candidates were scheduled for Tuesday, while Kwara Central candidates completed their documentation today.

Applicants were required to present original and photocopies of their credentials, citizenship certificates, two passport photographs, bond agreements, biodata forms, and file jackets. Prof. Adaramaja emphasized the significance of this recruitment process in bolstering the state’s education sector, particularly in addressing the shortage of STEM teachers in basic education schools.
