Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has granted automatic employment to Hassana Nazifi Shehu Minjibir, a visually impaired graduate of Bayero University, Kano, in recognition of her exceptional determination and resilience. Minjibir, a graduate of Special Education, drew the governor’s attention during a recent women’s empowerment programme, where her inspiring story stood out.

Governor Yusuf expressed his admiration for Minjibir’s perseverance in overcoming physical challenges to achieve her academic goals. Praising her as a role model for others, he announced her immediate employment in the state civil service. In addition, the governor pledged to appoint her as a member of the board of the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Commission, which is set to be established soon in Kano State.

To ensure the swift implementation of his promise, Governor Yusuf directed the Kano State Head of Service to expedite Minjibir’s employment process without delay. This move aligns with his administration’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities and promoting inclusivity in the state workforce.

Minjibir’s story has resonated with many in the state, highlighting the importance of creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to supporting vulnerable groups and fostering an inclusive society where everyone has the chance to thrive.
