The Lagos State Government has commenced electronic registration for the 2025 Universal Basic Education (UBE) Placement Test through Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS), in line with its commitment to providing quality education for all children in the state. The registration period, announced on Monday, January 27, 2025, will run until Friday, April 18, 2025, according to a circular signed by the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo.

The initiative targets primary six pupils in public and approved private primary schools across Lagos State. While registration is free for public school pupils, a fee of N5,000 per candidate applies to those from approved private schools, payable through the Lagos State Central Billing System. The circular also introduced Yoruba Language as one of the test subjects, aiming to assess pupils’ knowledge and cognitive abilities comprehensively.

Director Orunsolu Adebayo assured parents and stakeholders of a smooth and efficient registration process. He emphasized that adequate measures had been put in place to ensure a seamless experience, with special attention given to addressing individual concerns during the registration period. This inclusion highlights the state’s commitment to leaving no child behind in its educational efforts.

The electronic registration marks a significant step in modernizing educational processes in Lagos State. By incorporating continuous assessment scores into the placement test, the government aims to enhance transparency and promote a fairer evaluation system, ensuring that all eligible pupils are adequately prepared for secondary education.
