The Okpurughre Foundation for Education and Sports Development has provided writing materials to more than 10,000 pupils in primary schools across Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State. The initiative covered 49 primary schools, with each pupil receiving at least five notebooks along with pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, and sharpeners.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, renowned educationist and foundation representative Mr. Peter Agbaimoni expressed satisfaction with the team’s ability to visit every primary school in the area despite the challenging terrain. He emphasized that the effort was motivated purely by a passion for uplifting the education sector and was devoid of any political agenda.

Headmasters and headmistresses of the various schools visited expressed gratitude to the foundation, describing the gesture as unprecedented in the local government area. Schools visited included Udurhie Primary School, Oreki Primary School, Uduaka Primary School, Uherevie Primary School, Ajenesan Primary School, and several others.

A total of 10,182 pupils benefited from the initiative, marking a significant milestone in supporting education within the region. The foundation has also announced plans to extend similar support to secondary schools in the near future, further demonstrating its commitment to fostering educational development.
