Honourable Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja, has urged newly admitted students of Yagongwo College of Nursing Sciences, Kuje, to take their studies seriously and remain dedicated to their professional training. Abbas, who was represented at the second matriculation ceremony by his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA), Comrade Victoria Uko, emphasized the critical role nurses play in the healthcare system and encouraged the students to uphold values of compassion, integrity, and professionalism.

The ceremony, which took place on Saturday, marked the formal admission of 271 students into the college. In his address, Dr. Adamu Jatau Noma, the MD/CEO of the college, highlighted pressing challenges, including the need for scholarships for indigent students, hostel construction, and ICT infrastructure development. He also appealed for assistance in acquiring training materials, buses, and laboratory equipment to enhance learning.

Adding his voice, Dr. Tanko Jibrin, the Gomo of Kuje, praised Dr. Noma for his dedication to education and healthcare, describing him as an outstanding administrator and educationist. Similarly, Mrs. Philomena Yahaya, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, welcomed guests and reminded students of the importance of adhering to the college’s rules and academic commitment.

Established in 2022, Yagongwo College of Nursing Sciences has received provisional accreditation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and institutional accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). With strategic partnerships with hospitals and healthcare institutions in Abuja, the college is positioned to equip students with the necessary skills to excel in the healthcare sector.
