Abuja, Nigeria – In a major step toward strengthening cybersecurity education in Nigeria, Nile University of Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EC-Council University (ECCU), USA. The agreement, formalized on Monday, February 24, 2025, aims to provide students and professionals with world-class cybersecurity education, professional certifications, and access to globally recognized training programs.

The signing ceremony was attended by Nile University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dilli Dogo FNAMed, and Lata Bavisi, President of EC-Council University. The partnership will equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital economy and combat evolving cyber threats.

Prof. Dogo emphasized the strategic significance of the collaboration, particularly in ensuring that cybersecurity graduates from Nile University receive internationally recognized certifications.

“This collaboration is very important to us, especially as it provides an opportunity for our cybersecurity students to graduate as world-certified experts. We have a similar partnership with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), allowing Management Sciences students to be ACCA-certified upon graduation. Nile University is continuously innovating and ensuring that our graduates are well-skilled and industry-ready across the world.”

With cyber threats becoming more sophisticated, the demand for highly trained cybersecurity professionals is on the rise.
