A Lagos-based school is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of remarkable growth and achievements. The Proprietress and Managing Director, Mrs. Hannah Royeke Obalade, reflected on the school’s journey, highlighting its humble beginnings and impressive milestones.
According to Mrs. Obalade, the school started in a rented building with just six staff members and two pupils. Over the years, it has grown significantly, now operating from a permanent site with world-class facilities and a thriving student population.
“Our school is an innovative solution to broadening children’s skills. The children are engaged in learning new skills and reinforcing already acquired ones,” Obalade said. “We provide a platform where children imbibe a culture of academic distinction, standing tall and making a positive mark on everyone they come in contact with.”
She expressed pride in the school’s track record of academic success, noting that many of its pupils have gained admission into reputable secondary schools and universities both within Nigeria and abroad.
The school’s students have excelled in various competitions, including ICT, Science and Mathematics, Creative Arts, and Spelling Bees, consistently bringing home laurels.
“We have been blessed with good staff members,” Obalade noted, adding that despite running a nursery and primary school, the institution insists on employing only university graduates as teachers to ensure quality education.
To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the school has lined up several events. Activities will kick off with an Inter-House Sports contest on April 12, followed by an Inter-Primary School Math Competition, a Community Service Initiative, and a visit to a Motherless Babies Home. An Alumni and Parent Gathering will also be held, culminating in the grand finale — the 20th Anniversary Graduation Ceremony — scheduled for September 28, 2025.
Mrs. Obalade emphasized that despite the challenges faced in the early years, the school management is proud of the indelible mark it has made on education in Lagos, shaping young minds and preparing them for future success.
