Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has presented tuition fees and laptops to 127 law graduates from the state who have secured admission into the Nigeria Law School.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony on Tuesday in Damaturu, Buni said each beneficiary received N475,000 as tuition, along with a laptop to support their academic work.

“I am glad to state that our government has been consistent in sponsoring students to pursue education both at home and abroad, with over 38,000 benefiting from the state scholarship scheme under this administration,” the governor said.

This marks the fourth consecutive year the Buni administration has sponsored law graduates to the Law School.

The governor also highlighted the success of other scholarship beneficiaries, revealing that 140 out of 189 medical and allied health graduates who studied in Indian universities under state sponsorship have been employed, with the remaining 49 expected to be absorbed soon.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to education, Buni pledged continued support for professional development across various fields.

“This administration will continue to support the pursuance of professional certificates at the Nigeria Law School to qualify our law graduates to practice as lawyers. Likewise, we will support accountants to obtain ICAN or ANAN certification, and administrators at ASCON,” he stated.

Buni urged the beneficiaries to be disciplined, focused, and represent Yobe with pride.

“You should abide by the rules and regulations of the institution and avoid issues that are detrimental to your studies. Remain good ambassadors of our state to make us proud,” he said.
