Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has sparked fresh political discourse with pointed remarks about Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party. Taking to social media platform X, Omokri questioned the authenticity of Obi’s philanthropic gestures and public humility, suggesting they were calculated moves tied to his political ambitions.

Omokri claimed that Obi, who served as the governor of Anambra State, only began donating to schools and engaging in public acts of service—like personally serving food at events—after declaring his intention to run for president. According to him, these acts were not borne out of a genuine desire to serve but rather part of a deliberate image-building strategy.

He described Obi’s recent behavior as manipulative, calling him “a skilled actor acting out a script,” and argued that such displays of generosity and humility are not sustainable if they are rooted in political motives.
