Nigerian Coach Sets Guinness World Record for Longest Leadership Lesson

Nigerian-born leadership coach and author, Peter Adeleke, has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest leadership lesson after teaching continuously for 28 hours and 45 minutes in Calgary, Canada. The marathon session, which took place in August, surpassed the previous record of 24 hours. Adeleke had initially targeted between 30 and 48 hours for the attempt.

On Monday, Adeleke announced via Instagram that Guinness World Records had officially approved his feat, making him a world title holder. He shared a screenshot of the confirmation email, which partly read: “We are thrilled to inform you that your application for the longest leadership lesson has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Records Title Holder!”

Confirming the achievement on its website, Guinness World Records stated: “The longest leadership lesson is 28 hr 45 min and was achieved by Peter Adeleke (Canada), in Calgary, Canada, on 30 August 2025.” The platform described Adeleke as an author, speaker, and leadership expert who set out to inspire change in the field by sparking conversations around transformational leadership.

Celebrating the milestone, Adeleke expressed gratitude on Instagram, writing, “It’s official! Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, my fingers to fight, and my mouth to speak.” He dedicated the record to raising the bar in leadership development and encouraging a new narrative of visionary and impactful leadership.
