Foundation Donates School Materials to Pupils in Lagos

The Zakat and Sadaqat (Z&S) Waqf Foundation has donated school materials worth over N1.6 million to pupils of Shepherd Primary School in Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State. The gesture was carried out under the foundation’s Back-to-School Orphan and Indigent Pupils’ Education Support Programme.

According to the foundation, a total of 50 pupils benefited from the initiative, receiving items such as school uniforms, bags, exercise books, and footwear. The intervention, it noted, is part of efforts to empower vulnerable children and promote access to education through charity and sustainable support.

Speaking during the presentation, the Executive Director of the foundation, Alhaji Ma’aruf Ahmed, said the programme was aimed at reducing the financial burden on parents, especially at a time when many families are struggling with economic hardship. He emphasized that the foundation is committed to giving back to society by investing in the education of underprivileged children.

Ahmed further explained that education remains a critical tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, stressing that the foundation would continue to expand its programmes to reach more pupils across different communities. He also urged stakeholders and well-meaning Nigerians to partner with the foundation in its mission to support vulnerable groups and foster sustainable development.
