NANS Backs OORBDA Boss, Warns Against Sabotage

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has expressed confidence in the leadership of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), Engr. Adedeji Ashiru. The body described his administration as exemplary, noting that it has delivered significant achievements in rural development, youth empowerment, and infrastructural renewal.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, NANS National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Samson Adeyemi, said the association had carefully monitored the activities of the authority and was satisfied with its transparency, efficiency, and commitment to its core mandate. He commended Engr. Ashiru for revitalizing the agency through focused leadership and strategic reforms that have impacted positively on water resource management and agricultural development.

Adeyemi stressed that Ashiru’s leadership was people-oriented, student-friendly, and anchored on sustainable development. He added that NANS recognised his contributions to grassroots empowerment and applauded the vision that has guided the agency under his stewardship.

The student body, however, warned against alleged acts of sabotage by what it termed “unscrupulous elements” bent on distracting the OORBDA boss through blackmail, misinformation, and politically motivated attacks. NANS cautioned those behind such moves to desist, stating that Nigerian students would not allow a performing public servant to be unjustly targeted for executing his duties with integrity and excellence.
