The African Natural Resources and Mines Limited (ANRML) has commissioned a block of three fully furnished classrooms at Government Secondary School, Gujeni, in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, delivering a significant improvement to learning conditions in the host community.
At the commissioning on Thursday, Vice Chairman of Kagarko LGA, Hon. Titus Musa, said the new classrooms and staff room would greatly enhance the learning environment for both students and teachers, describing the project as a welcome boost to local education.
His Royal Highness, Engr. Bitrus James, applauded ANRML for its intervention, noting that a conducive learning atmosphere is essential for academic success. “ANRML has done well, and we trust that they will continue to provide the support needed to give our children the environment they deserve,” he said.
Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Senior Secondary Education Board, Dr. Suwaiba Ibrahim, commended the company for aligning its efforts with the state government’s education development agenda. “This is not just a building; it is a commitment to the future of Kaduna’s children. The governor is happy with what ANRML has done,” she stated.
Director of Public Schools, Mallam Muktar Maude, lauded the partnership between the community and the private sector, urging residents to take ownership of the facility to ensure its longevity. The Village Head of Gujeni, Mr. Dogara Wakili, also expressed gratitude for the well-furnished block, complete with desks and tables.
School Principal, Mr. Musa Danjuma Jasper, said the intervention was timely, noting that many of the school’s structures built in 2008 had become dilapidated. “This project has transformed our infrastructure. We appreciate ANRML for their commitment,” he remarked.
Student representative, Vivian Matthew, thanked the company for the new classrooms and appealed for more teachers to be deployed to the school. Students also staged a short play in appreciation, while the ANRML Women’s Forum distributed notebooks and pens.
Presenting the keys of the building to the school, ANRML CEO, Mr. Narasimha Nayak, prayed that the facility would become a “beacon of hope and opportunity” for future generations in Gujeni.
