Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has deployed watchmen to secondary schools across Kano State as part of efforts to restore safety, discipline, and stability in public schools. This was disclosed in a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, on Wednesday.

Governor Yusuf described the exercise as a major step toward creating a secure learning environment, emphasizing that education cannot thrive where safety is compromised. He explained that the watchmen would serve as the first line of defense, responsible for safeguarding school premises, monitoring unauthorized activities, and supporting the smooth running of academic programs.

He commended the Ministry of Education and the management of the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB) for their dedication in implementing government directives.

The governor urged the newly appointed watchmen to perform their duties with vigilance, discipline, and integrity, highlighting their critical role in ensuring the safety of students, teachers, and school facilities.
