The African Natural Resources and Mines Limited (ANRML) has constructed and furnished a block of three classrooms and a staff room for Government Secondary School, Gujeni, in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, providing a major boost to learning conditions in the community.

The project was officially commissioned on Thursday by the Vice Chairman of Kagarko LGA, Titus Musa, who said the new facility would significantly enhance the learning environment for both students and teachers.

“The building and furnishing of these classrooms and staff room will help improve the learning environment for the students and teachers,” he stated.

Community Leaders Laud ANRML’s Intervention

The Esu of Gujeni, Engineer Bitrus James, praised the company’s commitment to supporting education:

“When there is a conducive environment, our children will learn better. ANRML has done well, and we trust they will continue to do more.”

Chairman of the Kaduna State Senior Secondary Education Board, Dr. Suwaiba Ibrahim, described the project as a strong demonstration of ANRML’s support for the state’s educational development agenda.

“This is not just a building; it is a commitment to the development of children. We are happy with what the company has done,” she said.

The Village Head of Gujeni, Dogara Wakili, also expressed gratitude, noting that the classrooms—fully furnished with desks and tables—were a welcome relief for the community.

School Authorities Welcome Upgrade

The school’s principal, Musa Danjuma Jasper, said the new facilities were timely, as many of the school’s structures built in 2008 had deteriorated.

“The building of these classrooms and staff room by ANRML has given us better infrastructure and will help transform the school,” he noted.

A student, Vivian Matthew, also appreciated the gesture on behalf of her peers.

ANRML Reaffirms Commitment to Community Development

While handing over the keys to the school, ANRML CEO, Narasimha Nayak, prayed that the school would become “a beacon of hope and opportunity for the future of the Gujeni community.”

ANRML, a subsidiary of the African Industries Group (AIG), has an established presence in Gujeni and has been supporting the community through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. These include the provision of boreholes, overhead tanks, transformers, medicines, and regular health check-ups.

The new classrooms mark another significant step in ANRML’s ongoing efforts to promote education, social welfare, and long-term development in the communities where it operates.
