Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved full scholarships for indigenes of the state to study at the prestigious Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria.

The development was announced in a statement by the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Scholarship Board, Professor Rasheedah Liman, who noted that the initiative aligns with the government’s Six-Point Agenda and its broader Rescue Mission—especially the drive to strengthen the educational sector and develop a highly skilled future workforce.

According to Professor Liman, the beneficiaries were selected strictly on merit after undergoing rigorous examinations and interviews conducted by NCAT. Under the programme, the sponsored students will receive specialized professional training as Standard Pilots and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.

She added that the state government has committed to providing full academic, financial, and welfare support to ensure the students excel throughout their training.

“This strategic investment is designed to address the growing manpower needs of Zamfara State, particularly as the aviation sector continues to expand,” she said. “Upon completion, these trained pilots and aviation engineers will play vital roles in advancing aviation-related development within the state and contributing to national growth.”

The Zamfara State Government reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth, promoting excellence, and enhancing access to quality education—especially in specialized technical fields that hold significant economic potential for the state.
