COEASU Calls for Colleges of Education Insider to Lead NCCE as Tenure Ends, Praises Alausa’s Reforms
The Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) praised the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, for his commitment to fully implementing the Dual Mandate and safeguarding revitalization funds for Colleges of Education.
The union said his intervention in harmonizing union renegotiations under the Yayale Ahmed Committee framework has prevented industrial crises and restored stability across tertiary institutions.
In a statement signed by its President, Dr. Ahmed Lawan Bazza, COEASU said the reforms align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes human capital development and quality education. The union stressed that, in line with national precedent, the next NCCE Executive Secretary should be appointed from within the Colleges of Education sector to ensure stability, fairness, and consolidation of reforms.
