UNIBEN: Friends host Afejuku to retirement party in Sapele
It was a rain of encomiums as the Safi Boys Club, a gathering of old friends and colleagues, recently held a retirement party for Professor Tony Esijolomi Afejuku, who recently retired as a lecturer from the services of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
The glamorous event, which was attended by royalties, top-notch politicians, academia, business moguls, and legal luminaries, took place in Sapele, Delta State.

Bauchi: FCE Jama’are holds first matriculation with 350 students
A total of 350 students were on Saturday matriculated in the various National Certificate of Education (NCE) programmes of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Jama’are, Bauchi State for the 2022/2023 academic session.
Speaking during the maiden matriculation ceremony of the College held at its temporary Site in Jama’are, the Provost, Prof. Aisha Mohammed urged the students to exhibit discipline, loyalty, honesty and good character at all times.

“He Stopped Them from Cheating”: 10 Secondary School Students Beat Up Teacher in Ogun State
In Ilisan-Remo, Ogun state, a group of ten senior secondary school students ambushed and attacked their teacher, Kolawole Shonuga.
Shonuga had caught one of them, Ashimi Adebanjo, cheating during an examination at Isanbi Comprehensive High School The police have arrested and arraigned Adebanjo and others who assaulted the teacher at the school’s gate.

According to the latest Webometrics ranking, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) is the best-owned state university in Nigeria.
In the latest ranking released in January 2023, Adekunle Ajasin University and Olabisi Onabanjo University made the top three.

“I Didn’t Gain Admission Through UTME”: LASU’s Best-Graduating Student, Aminat Yusuf Speaks
Aminat Imoitesemeh Yusuf, a prominent alumnus of the Lagos State University (LASU), has said she was not required to write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) when she gained admission to the school.
Yusuf emerged as the best-graduating student for the 2021/2022 academic session with a perfect 5.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
