World Teachers’ Day: We deserve support, motivation from govt, others — Private school owners

20 best students get scholarships in Ogun

Twenty best students out of 420 who partook in an examination organised by a foundation, House of Emmanuels in Abeokuta, Ogun State have been given scholarships.

Old students rally support for alma mater

The 1998 set of the Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo, Ogun State, also known as ApolloGramms has fulfilled the promise made at its 25th anniversary to support its alma mater by giving it a facelift.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Aerofield Homes Limited, Armstrong Akintunde, who is also the chairman of 92/98 set of the old students association, harped on the need for the set to give back to its alma mater while handing over the newly renovated block of four classrooms and offices to the school management recently. UNIZIK moves from 4,494 to 1,500 in world rankings

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State (UNIZIK), has moved from 4,494th position to 1,500th position in the latest world university rankings for 2024.

Out-of-school children: Don calls for activation of education officers, formation of neighbourhood alert group

A professor of Education Management, Olumuyiwa Adeyemi, has called for the activation of education officers and formation of neighbourhood alert groups to monitor and reduce the number of out-of-school children as well as child’s labour.

Adeyemi, while delivering the 112th inaugural lecture of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, recently, noted that the issues of out-of-school children and child labour could only be achieved if the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Act is implemented and enforced. Safe Schools: National response centre commended over proactive measures

education coordinator for Save the Children International (SCI), Borno Area Office, Mr Nebath Mela, has visited the National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC), commending it on focusing on preventive measures rather than being reactionary in its approach to ensure safer schools in the counrty.

Nigerian varsity curriculum producing parasites, unemployable graduates — Adeniran, ex-education minister

A former minister of education, Professor Tunde Adeniran, has lamented that the university curriculum being implemented in Nigeria is outdated and producing “parasites and unemployable graduates” in the country.

However, the National Universities Commission (NUC), said the new universities curriculum – the Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS), designed to address some of these challenges, would now takeoff officially in all universities during the 2023/24 academic session. No More 5,000: FG Increases Medical Student Admission to 10,000

The Federal Government has put initiatives in place to increase admittance into medical and dental institutions. It stated that the population of physicians in medicine and dentistry will be increased from 5,000 to 10,000 in the next academic year.

2023 World Teachers Day: ASUSS BESUN Appeal To Governor Sanwo-Olu For Recognition
