Professor Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, presented the official approval letter for the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital to HRH Justice Muhammad Sidi Bage (Rtd), Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs.
This approval follows President Bola Tinubu’s endorsement of the project. The ceremony was attended by Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada (SDP, Nasarawa West) and other dignitaries, including Prince Ibrahim Hassan Abdullahi, Adon Garin Lafia Bare Bari. The establishment of the teaching hospital is a culmination of efforts initiated by Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, former governor of Nasarawa State, whose bill led to the hospital’s creation and was signed into law by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The new teaching hospital is set to enhance medical education and healthcare services in Nasarawa State and the surrounding regions.
