At the 75th-anniversary celebration of China’s establishment, held on Monday in Lekki, Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State underscored the importance of educational collaboration between Lagos and the People’s Republic of China.
Represented by his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the positive impact of Chinese language schools and educational programs in Lagos, which have significantly contributed to the state’s vibrant cultural landscape.
The Governor praised China’s role as a key partner, emphasizing the successful collaboration that has driven notable infrastructure developments in Lagos. He acknowledged China’s impressive progress over the past 75 years, noting its achievements in technology, manufacturing, and economic growth.
Ms. Yan Yuping, Consul-General of the PRC in Lagos, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the Chinese Consulate’s dedication to strengthening the educational and cultural ties between China and Lagos State, building on the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Nigeria.
