Mr. Aligbe, the examination president, announced the commencement of the 2024 Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE) in Akure, with over 200 captains from various formations participating.

The examination serves as a key step for preparing army captains for the Junior Staff Course at staff colleges abroad.

Aligbe emphasized the importance of the CMPPE in evaluating the officers’ leadership skills and encouraged the participants to approach the examination with dedication, assuring them that success could be achieved without resorting to any malpractice.

General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Obinna Onubogu, expressed gratitude to the army headquarters for choosing their division to host the examination, noting that adequate logistical and security arrangements had been made for the smooth conduct of the event.
