Ayelabola Ololade, a final-year Computer Science student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance catwalk by a model, surpassing a 41-year-old record.

She cat-walked 130.62 km in 2,058 laps at the UNILAG indoor sports center, breaking the previous record of 114.4 km held by Roberta Brown and Lorraine McCourt since 1983.

Ololade expressed her mixed emotions upon achieving the milestone, highlighting the inspiration and positive impact it had on those around her. She acknowledged that while the record-breaking feat has yet to be officially verified, the experience and the reactions of supporters already felt rewarding.

She credited her success to the unwavering support of her family, friends, volunteers, and various stakeholders, emphasizing that their contributions made the achievement possible. Ololade encouraged other aspiring models to “dare to dream,” believing that determination and the right attitude can make any goal achievable.
