The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), West Africa Affairs, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for redeploying Dr. Tunji Alausa as Minister of Education.
The association expressed confidence that Alausa’s experience and dedication would bring positive reforms to Nigeria’s education sector.
In a statement by NANS Diaspora Director, Comrade Joshua Olakunle, the group urged the new minister to reconsider the ban on recognizing certificates from institutions in Togo and Benin Republics, highlighting the financial and emotional strain it has caused to students and families. Olakunle emphasized the need for a balanced approach that protects educational standards while ensuring Nigerian students abroad are not unfairly penalized.
NANS also expressed its willingness to collaborate with the Education Ministry to establish necessary academic standards for institutions in these countries, aiming to uphold quality education and safeguard the future of Nigerian students abroad.
