Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, wife of the Kebbi State governor and founder of NASARA Foundation, has donated books, sanitary pads, and financial assistance to selected girls’ schools across Kebbi.

The initiative aims to support girls’ education and encourage them to stay in school, particularly those facing social and economic barriers.

Represented by her daughter, Hajiya Balkisu Nasir Idris, the First Lady emphasized that the donations are intended to empower young girls, assuring them they can reach their potential. She highlighted that the NASARA Foundation focuses on helping vulnerable girls, noting the importance of supporting education as a means of breaking down societal obstacles like early marriage.

At the event held at Salamatu Hussaini Girls’ Day Secondary School, the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, through Permanent Secretary Abubakar Magaji Nayalwa, expressed gratitude, stating the donations would greatly boost students’ morale.

Principals of the benefiting schools, Salamatu Hussaini and Unity Girls College, Birnin Kebbi, commended the First Lady’s efforts, describing her as a steadfast advocate for the welfare of young girls and vulnerable populations.
