The 1999 Alumni Association of the Obafemi Awolowo College of Health Sciences (OACHS), part of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ogun State, has renovated the university’s Glass House lecture hall and provided essential teaching aids.

This project, undertaken to celebrate the alumni association’s 25th anniversary since graduation, included extensive upgrades such as new ceiling, lighting, electrical fittings, benches, and tables, along with interior and exterior painting. The alumni also donated a public address system, projector, and whiteboards, contributing approximately N22 million in total.

At the commissioning event, OOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ayodeji Agboola commended the alumni for their impactful gesture, noting that it stands as a first of its kind for the university and encouraging other alumni groups to follow suit. Dr. John Akinola, Chairman of OACHS 1999 Board of Trustees, emphasized the association’s ongoing commitment to supporting the institution.

He also highlighted previous donations, including bedsheets to OOU Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in 2023 and a pediatric ward in 2022, contributed by alumnus Dr. Muyiwa Abdul.
