A 200-level student of Lagos State University, Mr. Kareem Abayomi, is at risk of dropping out due to severe financial constraints. The brilliant student, who is currently on a 4.69 CGPA, has sent a desperate appeal for help, revealing that he is struggling not only to afford tuition and living expenses but is also facing food insecurity.

Abayomi, who is physically challenged and walks on crutches, shared his ordeal in a letter to the government and the public. He lamented the loss of support from benefactors due to the country’s harsh economic conditions, leaving him unable to pay for his education, rent, or even meet basic needs like food.

Despite his academic excellence, with a CGPA of 4.69, Abayomi said his situation has worsened to the point of depression, with days passing without food. He revealed that he lost his mother earlier this year and now has no family support.

Abayomi is urgently seeking assistance from the Ogun State government, Lagos State government, federal authorities, non-governmental organizations, and well-meaning Nigerians to continue his education and sustain his life.
