The Kwara State Government has condemned the practice of branding school materials donated to public schools with political messages or images of donors.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Sa’adatu Moddibo Kawu, the government emphasized that such practices are inappropriate and should cease immediately.

“This practice, which includes emblazoning the picture of the donor on books or school materials, should stop,” the statement read.

Kawu noted that while the government appreciates support for public schools, a policy is in place to ensure donated materials remain free of political branding. She added that since 2019, educational items distributed by the state government have not featured the governor’s image, as Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq believes such practices are not suitable for young learners.

The government urged public officials and private individuals to comply with this policy while expressing gratitude to all donors supporting public education in the state.
