A National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, member, Nafisah Umar Hassan, has donated school uniforms to 100 pupils of Batagarawa Low-cost Primary School in Katsina State.

Nafisah, currently serving with the state Ministry of Environment, said the gesture was part of her Community Development Service, CDS, to support pupils from underprivileged homes and those orphaned by banditry.

During the distribution event, Nafisah explained that the initiative aimed to encourage education among children eager to learn but hindered by financial challenges. “This project is to assist pupils with the zeal to go to school, helping them pursue their elementary education,” she said.

The state NYSC Coordinator, Ibrahim Saidu, commended Nafisah for her humanitarian effort and urged other corps members to emulate her example by executing impactful projects in their host communities. He also appealed to local government leaders to support corps members in implementing community development initiatives.
