The Anambra State Government has approved a budget of ₦54.95 billion for infrastructure development, including roads, streetlights, and education.

Key projects include the ₦2.1 billion Trans-Nkisi Boulevard 1 road in GRA Onitsha, awarded to Paul-B Nigeria Limited, and the ₦7.5 billion Nanka-Aguluzigbo-Umuona road, set to be completed in 12 months by IDC Construction.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration also approved ₦10.95 billion for the 16.37 km Mbaukwu-Awgbu-Amaetiti-Okpaeze road and ₦6.18 billion for the rehabilitation of the Awkuzu-Igbariam-Anaku Link Road.

To advance education, ₦13.51 billion was allocated for the development of 22 smart schools across the state’s 21 LGAs. The administration also awarded contracts for various road projects in Onitsha, Amichi, and Aguleri Uno to improve connectivity and support economic growth.

The Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, highlighted the infrastructure projects as part of Soludo’s vision to transform Anambra into a livable and prosperous mega-city.
