Accounting practitioners and students have been encouraged to adopt artificial intelligence (AI), disruptive innovations, and modern technological practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Speaking at an international conference hosted by Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra State, Prof. Meshack Ifurueze, Head of Research at the Centre of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), highlighted the transformative impact of AI on education, research, and development.

The three-day event, themed “Artificial Intelligence and Disruptive Innovation/Technologies: A Curriculum Change in Accounting Education and Practice”, was organized by ANAN in collaboration with COOU’s Department of Accountancy.

Prof. Ifurueze called on participants to explore innovative ideas to reshape accounting education and practice. He also acknowledged the contributions of former ANAN President, Prof. Benjamin Osisioma, for establishing the ANAN Research Centre at COOU.
