Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has instructed the Ministry of Business Innovation and Technology to provide additional free buses for students of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, and the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) returning to campus after the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Damilola Yusuf, announced this in a statement issued on Monday in Ilorin. Yusuf explained that the initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of transportation costs for students. The buses will be stationed at key locations, including Queen Elizabeth Secondary School, Taiwo, and Soludero Parks at the Post Office in Ilorin, to ensure accessibility for all registered students.
Reaffirming the government’s dedication to education, Yusuf noted that the free transportation demonstrates Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to easing challenges faced by students. He urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the initiative and return to their campuses promptly. “This gesture is a special measure specifically put in place for the students,” Yusuf added.
