After Being Turned Back Over ID Card
A final-year student of Business Education at Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Idris Aremu Agboluaje, has reportedly lost his life in a tragic road accident while hurrying to sit for his first-semester examination.
The 400-level student was said to have been denied entry into the examination hall after failing to present his student identity card, according to eyewitness accounts. Determined not to miss the paper, he allegedly sped back toward the school gate to retrieve the required identification.
In the process, Agboluaje was involved in a fatal accident, cutting short what should have been one of the most important academic moments of his life.
The incident has thrown the university community into mourning, with colleagues and classmates struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.
Reacting to the development, the Association of Business Educators of Nigeria (ABEN), KWASU Malete Chapter, expressed deep sorrow over the student’s death, describing it as a painful and heartbreaking loss to the department.
“Our hearts go out to his parents, family members, friends and classmates during this difficult time,” the association said in a statement.
As of the time of filing this report, the management of Kwara State University had yet to release an official statement confirming the incident.
