Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has unveiled an ultra-modern digital classroom at Remo Secondary School (RSS) as part of activities marking the institution’s 80th anniversary, describing the project as a forward-looking investment designed to equip students for the demands of the 21st-century knowledge economy.

Speaking during the celebration held on the school premises, Abiodun said the new facility is a key component of a broader smart-learning initiative for the school. He revealed that the plan also includes the establishment of a resource centre and a fully equipped robotics laboratory aimed at fostering innovation, creativity and advanced digital skills among students.

“As a first step in providing continuous support, I am pledging the sum of ₦100 million to this institution,” the governor announced. “To underscore my commitment, I will release 50 per cent of this pledge next week. Beyond that, I will ensure that before I leave office, we begin and complete at least one of the projects mentioned.”

Abiodun further disclosed that the state government had remodelled the school’s science laboratories, upgrading them to modern standards and providing contemporary instructional tools to ensure a safer and more inspiring environment for learning.

He added that both the boys’ and girls’ hostels had been rehabilitated to improve students’ comfort, safety and overall welfare.

Describing Remo Secondary School as a heritage institution, the governor said the 80th anniversary was not just a celebration of longevity but a tribute to a living legacy of excellence.

He commended the school’s alumni for preserving its history and contributing to its development, noting that their efforts reflect a shared commitment to sustaining the institution’s high standards.

Abiodun also revealed that RSS has been designated as one of Ogun State’s flagship schools. He urged students to approach their education with passion, uphold integrity and strive to live up to the legacy built by generations before them.
