The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has opened online registration for the 2026 Screening Test into Model Colleges and upgraded Junior Secondary Schools for the 2026/2027 session. Coordinated by the Lagos State Examinations Board, the exercise runs from January 19 to May 15, 2026. Eligible candidates are Primary Six pupils in public and private schools, and registration is to be completed online.

The Computer-Based Test is scheduled for May 27 to 29, 2026, at designated centres across the state. The registration fee is ₦10,000, and candidates of Lagos State origin must upload a valid indigeneship certificate. The government reiterated its commitment to merit and transparency in the admission process.

Meanwhile, 10 students in Education District III received financial support for their NECO registration from the NGO, 100 Smiles. Officials described the gesture as a boost to ensuring access to quality education for financially disadvantaged students.
