Divine Breed International School, located along Arab Road in Kubwa, Abuja, has announced plans to hold its much-anticipated Fruit Week next week, marking activities for the fourth week of the academic term.

The initiative is part of its commitment to promoting healthy living habits among pupils while reinforcing practical learning beyond the classroom.

According to the Mrs Gladys The Head Teacher, the Fruit Week will feature a variety of engaging activities designed to educate learners on the nutritional value of fruits, the importance of balanced diets, and the role of healthy eating in overall growth and development.

Learners across different classes are expected to participate in fruit exhibitions, tasting sessions, and interactive learning exercises that will expose them to a wide range of locally available fruits. The programme will also encourage creativity as learners showcase fruit arrangements and presentations.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, The Proprietress Mrs. Charity Arhore noted that early exposure to healthy lifestyle choices helps children develop lifelong habits that improve their physical health, concentration, and academic performance.

“Fruit Week is not just a fun activity; it is a practical way of teaching our learners the importance of nutrition and healthy living. We want them to understand that what they eat directly affects how they grow, think, and perform,” a school representative said.

The programme is also expected to foster collaboration between the school and parents, as families are encouraged to support their children by providing a variety of fruits and reinforcing healthy eating habits at home.

Education stakeholders have continued to emphasize the importance of integrating health awareness into school programmes, noting that initiatives like Fruit Week play a vital role in raising well-rounded learners.

The management of Divine Breed International School reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education, combining academic excellence with character building and healthy lifestyle practices.
