Tragedy struck at BrickHall Schools in Abuja as four-year-old Miguel Ovoke, a pupil, passed away under puzzling circumstances during the school’s feeding hours. The incident occurred on Wednesday, prompting swift action from the school’s staff, who rushed the child to Excel Specialist Hospital in the nation’s capital. The death certificate issued by the hospital revealed that Miguel was brought in unconscious, reportedly due to aspiration on meat while feeding at school.

According to the medical report signed by Dr. Akinwande Ajayi, Miguel’s condition upon arrival at the hospital was critical, with fixed and dilated pupils and no cardiopulmonary activity. Despite efforts by the medical team to revive him, Miguel was pronounced “Brought in Dead.” Concerned about the circumstances surrounding their son’s death, Miguel’s parents have enlisted the support of human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju to pursue justice.

As investigations into the incident unfold, the management team of BrickHall School has yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter. Miguel’s tragic demise adds to recent controversies surrounding school safety and student welfare, echoing the recent spotlight on Lead British International School over allegations of bullying.
