Former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, has continued his tradition of recognizing and rewarding academic excellence by honoring the best graduating students from the University of Nigeria (UNN) through the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation. Speaking at the 52nd convocation ceremony of UNN, Kalu expressed his admiration for the outstanding achievements of this year’s winners.

Kalu revealed that since 2014, the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation has been steadfast in its commitment to rewarding exceptional academic performance. This year, he had the privilege of redeeming his pledges to the deserving winners.

Among the distinguished scholars recognized was Ejiofor Chizoba Victor, who emerged as the overall best-graduating student in the entire university. Victor, a student of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, achieved an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.93, showcasing unparalleled dedication and scholarly prowess.

Furthermore, Kalu commended Ugwoke Cornelius Chinemeogo for his remarkable academic achievements. Chinemeogo, a student of the Economics Department, not only emerged as the best-graduating student in the Faculty of Social Sciences with a CGPA of 4.81 but also clinched the title of best graduating student in the Department of Economics, once again with a CGPA of 4.81. Kalu celebrated Chinemeogo’s remarkable feat, emphasizing the significance of his double win.
