The Katsina State Government has taken significant steps to enhance educational quality by recruiting 5,095 permanent primary school teachers and promoting 17,600 others.

Dr. Kabir Magaji, Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), announced these achievements during a press briefing, highlighting that the promotions cover the years 2022 and 2023.

In addition to the teacher recruitment and promotions, the state government has addressed outstanding arrears for 74 casual staff, amounting to N4,030,000, and invested in educational resources by distributing millions in learning materials to schools statewide. The government also launched an Agric Education Programme, allocating N48 million to support entrepreneurship skills among teachers and students.

As part of this initiative, 3,000 broiler chickens were distributed as revolving loans to selected schools, with 28 schools chosen for crop farming projects to promote vocational skills. Dr. Magaji emphasized that these efforts align with the administration’s commitment to improving teachers’ welfare and enhancing the overall learning environment in Katsina State.
