The Federal Government is set to unveil a revamped basic education curriculum today at the National Council of Education meeting.

Minister of State for Education, Dr. Tanko Sununu, announced the curriculum update while flagging off a teacher training program organized by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in Abuja.

The revised curriculum aims to address the nation’s need for social regeneration by integrating values that promote ethical decision-making and positive relationships among learners.

Dr. Sununu emphasized that the new curriculum seeks to go beyond academic knowledge by engaging students in discussions about values, ethics, and responsible citizenship. The goal is to develop a generation of learners who are not only skilled academically but also emotionally intelligent, socially responsible, and morally upright.

UBEC’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, highlighted the importance of equipping teachers with the right tools to instill good morals in students. He expressed confidence that the initiative would nurture responsible and patriotic citizens capable of contributing positively to society.
