The Federal Government, through the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), will print and distribute one million science textbooks to schools across Nigeria.

This initiative, part of the PTDF STEM Fund, aims to improve science education at the basic school level, covering subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and computer science.

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Heineken Lokpobiri, announced the plan following a Federal Executive Council meeting, explaining that the project seeks to address gaps in science education, which are hindering Nigeria’s technological and engineering progress. The textbooks will be distributed to all 774 local government areas, 104 unity schools, and 122 special schools in the country.
