Fifty-seven teams representing nine Nigerian universities have registered for the CGMA Business Leader Challenge 2024, a regional competition aimed at undergraduates.
This initiative is organized by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants and Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA), in collaboration with Coronation Merchant Bank and Stanbic IBTC Bank.
The competition challenges teams to address real-life business scenarios, presenting their solutions to a panel of senior executives in finance and business management.
According to the organizers, the CGMA Business Leader Challenge is designed to enhance young Nigerian talent’s business acumen, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, while showcasing their potential as future leaders in accounting, finance, and business.
Ijeoma Anadozie, Associate Director in Nigeria at AICPA & CIMA, expressed excitement about hosting the second edition of the challenge, building on the success of last year, which saw 30 teams compete. She emphasized the importance of teamwork, communication, and leadership skills as the participating students prepare to demonstrate their abilities.
