Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, has commended Abiodun Regina Nwagbo, an agricultural science teacher at Mother’s Joy College, Ibadan, for her exemplary performance in winning the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year (MToY) Award.

The Commissioner received Nwagbo at his office in Agodi, Ibadan, on Monday, praising her dedication, resourcefulness, and commitment to excellence, which he said has brought pride to the state.

“Your hard work and commitment have not only brought you recognition but have also set a standard for others,” Adelabu remarked. He called on other teachers to be inspired by her achievements and maintain the same enthusiasm and commitment in their work. Nwagbo’s dedication, he said, has made her a shining example of excellence in the teaching profession and a role model within the education sector of Oyo State.

In response, Nwagbo expressed gratitude to the Oyo State government, the Education Ministry, her school, and Nigerian Breweries Plc, which organizes the MToY competition annually as part of its corporate social responsibility.
