The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has postponed its planned strike until December 2 to allow the Federal Government to address its demands, ASUP President Kpanja Shammah disclosed.
ASUP’s grievances include alleged interference by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in admission processes and calls for infrastructure revitalization, implementation of promotions, and arrears payment.
The decision to delay the strike aims to monitor the government’s adherence to an agreed-upon action plan, with ASUP warning of a comprehensive service withdrawal if issues remain unaddressed.
