The Pro-Chancellor of KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, and former Minister of State for Finance, Remi Babalola, urged 156 graduates to approach their futures with innovation and resilience as they step into the next chapter of their lives. Addressing the graduates at the university’s convocation ceremony, Babalola, who also serves as Chairman of the Governing Council, encouraged them to adapt to challenges by finding strength in adversity and turning setbacks into opportunities.

“As you begin a new chapter of your life, I challenge you to alter your perspective consciously and intentionally on life and circumstances,” Babalola stated. He advised the graduates to seek opportunities even in difficult situations, to build resilience, and to develop a global mindset that would enable them to stay competitive and relevant in their chosen paths.

Babalola described the graduates as “ambassadors of knowledge, innovation, and progress,” emphasizing that their education equips them to break down barriers, challenge societal norms, and pursue dreams that could impact Nigeria positively. He highlighted the importance of their skills in addressing Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges, noting that their resilience and adaptive abilities will be essential in a landscape marked by inflation, high unemployment, and currency devaluation.

The Pro-Chancellor concluded by encouraging the graduates to remain true to values of integrity, excellence, and perseverance. “Your graduation today is a testament to a greater and brighter future ahead,” he said, urging them to pursue their dreams with courage and gratitude. “The bigger your dream, the greater the cost or sacrifice needed to achieve it,” he added, calling on the graduates to be leaders, innovators, and change-makers for the future.
