The Society for Family Health (SFH), in collaboration with the Taraba State Ministry of Education, has announced a plan to train 1,111 teachers on health and wellbeing education for students across the state.

This initiative, funded by UNESCO, aims to promote health-focused education in primary and secondary schools to support the well-being of Taraba’s growing adolescent population.

Aisha Dadi, the SFH Programme Director, highlighted that the program seeks to address issues affecting adolescents, such as HIV awareness, drug abuse, and gender-based violence, while enhancing knowledge in areas like family planning, menstrual hygiene, and internet safety.

SFH will begin implementing this project in select schools across Jalingo, Gassol, and Wukari, with hopes for broader community support to expand it throughout Taraba State.
