In a generous initiative, OPay, a top financial service provider in Nigeria, awarded N12 million in scholarships to 40 students from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. Each student will receive N300,000, providing crucial financial support for their academic journey.

The scholarship ceremony took place at ABU’s vice chancellor’s office, where OPay’s Managing Director, Dauda Gotring—a proud ABU alumnus—expressed his personal commitment to supporting education. “For us at OPay, giving back to society, especially through education, is at the heart of what we do,” he said, highlighting the special connection he feels to his alma mater.

ABU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, thanked OPay for its generosity, noting that the scholarships would allow students to focus more fully on their studies and dreams. “This support from OPay will lift a heavy burden off our students, helping them reach their academic goals,” Bala said.
